Title: Soldier located by NZ Defence Force staff
A soldier missing overnight on the Heaphy Track in Golden Bay was located about 8am today by his NZDF colleagues.
Police were informed shortly after 10pm yesterday that the man and become separated from his tramping party.
Police assessed the situation and considered there was no immediate requirement to deploy search and rescue teams. The man was well-equipped and weather conditions were good.
Police monitored the situation overnight and have been informed the man has been located.
