Closure Of Walkway Under Gladstone Road Bridge
Kia ora
Gisborne District Council needs to close part of the riverside walkway - under the Gladstone Road Bridge - to carry out small repairs to the sewer pipe.
In the last few months there has been an occasional leak through the side of the bridge from the pipe. While the work is being carried out, part of the walkway (under bridge at the town end) will be closed. This is to protect the safety of the public.
The walkway will be closed this afternoon (Tuesday 20 November) and be open again for the weekend.
With the agreement of the contractors walkers will be able pass around the edge of where the work is being carried out.
Council thanks walkway users for their patience.
