At approximately 4.00 pm on Thursday the 15th of November 2012, a 9 year old boy was located near Holme Station Bridge, Timaru. He was transported to Timaru Public Hospital and subsequently admitted.
At the time located, he was in a distressed condition and had some visible injuries. The injuries aren’t considered to be life threatening.
The Timaru Police are attempting to ascertain his movements after he left the Oceanview Heights Primary School at approximately 3.15 pm up until the time he was located.
The boy was wearing a school uniform from Oceanview Heights which consisted of a dark blue polar fleece, dark blue shorts and a teal green polo shirt.
The boy is described as being dark in complexion, of slim build, approximately 30 kgs with dark hair. Whilst aged 9, he is considered small for his age and his height is more that of a 6 or 7 year old.
At this stage police have been unable to speak to the young man to ascertain what has occurred.
The police are seeking any information or sightings from any person who believes they may have knowledge of the boy’s movements. The police are also interested in sightings of any vehicles parked in or around Holme Station Bridge yesterday afternoon, as well as any suspicious behaviour in the vicinity of Oceanview Heights School and the intersection of Selwyn and Hobbs Streets, Timaru.
