Shooting victim undergoing surgery
A 51 year-old man was shot at a private address in Hayr Rd in the suburb of Three Kings last night and he is currently undergoing surgery for serious leg injuries suffered during the altercation.
A silver 1996 BMW saloon, registration BZL461, was stolen from outside the address shortly after the shooting. Anyone who has seen the vehicle since then should call 111 immediately as it's possible the two men responsible for the shooting have or were travelling in the stolen car.
Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Marcia Murray says it's important Police hear of sightings of the stolen BMW any time since about 10pm last night when the man was shot.
"A scene examination is underway at the Hayr Rd address and staff are also carrying out area inquiries. We have spoken with one other person who was with the victim at the time of the shooting and he's given us his version of events.
"Anyone who knows who was responsible for last night's shooting or who has information relating to it or the vehicle, should contact Police and is strongly advised not to approach the offenders directly as they are clearly armed and dangerous."
The shooting victim was transported to hospital by ambulance shortly after Police arrived at the scene. Anonymous informants can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
