Arrest made in Richmond bar robbery
Christchurch Police have arrested a man in connection with the aggravated robbery of the Sideline Bar in Richmond last
Wednesday [7 November].
A 24-year old Christchurch man was arrested on Friday evening [9 November] and charged with aggravated robbery.
The man appeared in the Christchurch District Court on Saturday and was remanded in custody to reappear on Tuesday 13
November.
Police are still actively seeking to identify a second offender involved in the robbery and continue to ask for help
from the public.
Detective Senior Sergeant Tony Hill says the offenders are believed to have left the scene at speed in a white coloured
Subaru Impreza motor vehicle.
"Anyone who has seen a white coloured Subaru Impreza in the areas of Richmond, Shirley or Edgeware immediately after
11.30pm on Wednesday night is urged to contact Police as soon as possible," he says.
"We are also interested in hearing from retailers or members of the public who have seen anyone matching the
descriptions of the offenders, and using large amounts of gold coins to make transactions."
The offenders were both described as being male Maori or Pacific Islanders aged in their mid 20s, approximately 180cm in
height and wearing dark clothing with their faces covered.
