Tiger Translate Returns To Auckland – Bigger Than Ever Before
Tiger Translate is back. After taking a break last year, the NZ-developed, internationally-acclaimed art and music mash-up is returning to the place where it first saw the light of day - Auckland.
Launched in New Zealand in 2004, the Tiger Translate concept fuses East and West, art and music so successfully that, as a concept, it has gone global – rolled out via similar events in New York, Copenhagen, Beijing, Bangkok and Berlin.
This year’s Translate takes on the theme of ‘The Streets’, a Music inspired Tiger Translate event.
Tiger Beer is calling on creative artists to develop their own music track or album artwork inspired by the 2012 Translate ‘Streets’ theme, and get the chance to showcase their entries at Tiger Translate in Auckland and possibly win a trip to the global Tiger Translate in Dubai.
Musicians are needed to create a track that captures the unfolding energy of the streets, and upload it to the Tiger Beer website – www.tigerbeer.co.nz. Talented artists are then encouraged to find a musician’s entry that gets their creative juices flowing and create an album cover to accompany the track which also showcases the theme ‘Streets’.
Budding musicians and artists as well as members of the public are encouraged to go to the Tiger Beer website and vote for their favourite entries, and those most deserving to be finalists at Tiger Translate event in Auckland on the 17th November.
Ten finalists, both musicians and artists, taking part at the Tiger Translate event will be judged by well known kiwi music and artist industry insiders, for the chance to win a trip to Tiger Translate in Dubai in January 2013.
For more information or to enter and or vote for Tiger Translate creations visit www.tigerbeer.co.nz.
Notes to the Editor:
Tiger Translate was initially developed in New Zealand with the objective of using visual art to interpret the merge of traditions, cultures and tastes from the Asian East with the European West.
Tiger Beer International liked the idea so much it has exported the concept to other markets around the world. Tiger Translate ‘10 is the fifth event of its kind held in Auckland. The first was at the Transmission Room in 2005 and the second at Britomart’s Pavilion in 2006, the third at a basement in Nuffield Street in 2007, the fourth at Fu Bar and Zen in 2008 and the fifth at the Masonic Lodge in Auckland in 2010.
