Post mortem examination completed on baby girl found in Taita on Monday
A post-mortem examination has been carried out on the body of a baby girl found at a Taita Drive property on Monday morning.
Hutt Valley Police Tactical Response Manager Inspector Shane Cotter says Police will not be releasing the preliminary findings of the post-mortem examination whilst further enquiries are still underway.
"It will take some time to establish the exact circumstances of this baby girl's birth. It is far too early to speculate on whether any charges will be laid in relation to this incident and until further enquiries are completed, we will not be making any further comment."
The mother of the baby girl remains in hospital being treated for birthing complications.
