Lion Rock Incident - Deceased Woman Named
Waitakere Police have released the name of the woman who fell to her death from Lion Rock, Piha in the early hours of Saturday morning 25 August 2012.
Lianne GREER a 36 year old from Whenuapai was socialising with a group of friends when they decided to climb Lion Rock. GREER has fallen during the descent and died of injuries received.
Police are not treating this incident as suspicious. This is a tragic accident and serves as a reminder to all to act in a safe manner when out socialising.
Police express their gratitude to all the Piha locals who responded immediately to assist and provide first aid care.
