Time to move on with integrated ticketing
It is time to move forward with a single integrated ticketing system for the whole region says the Mayor.
Len Brown’s comment comes after Auckland Transport announced the termination of Snapper’s involvement in the integrated
ticketing project.
“Aucklanders have waited for too long to use an integrated ticket across the region’s trains, ferries and buses. Now our
involvement with Snapper has been terminated, we can get on with delivering a single system across the network, our
original preferred option,” says the Mayor.
“Integrated tickets will be introduced on trains from 28 October and on ferries by 30 November, with bus rollout from
April next year.
“I’m disappointed that this situation has held up the completed project, but it gives us the chance to roll out a single
system we confidently know will work across the region.
“Public transport users in Auckland want an integrated ticket, we are focused on making it happen, now we can get on
with it.”
