Driver charged after crash
A 26 year old Nelson woman has been charged with Wounding with Intent to Cause Grievous Bodily Harm following a crash on Wakefield Quay in Nelson about 7.40am today.
The woman is alleged to have driven her car into a 40 year old male pedestrian who was her uncle. He has sustained serious injuries and is currently undergoing surgery at Nelson Hospital.
The woman had left the scene before Police arrived, but subsequently presented at the Nelson Police Station.
She is due to appear in Nelson District Court this afternoon.
