Tongariro Eruption Does Not Seem To Have Affected Farms
Initial reports following the eruption of Mt Tongariro is that thankfully, it has had minimal impact on farm pasture or stock drinking water. Four farms have been contacted in different geographical parts of the Hawke’s Bay and they are yet to report ash. This includes one on the Taupo-Napier Highway. While we are waiting on reports from our Ruapehu province, GNS’ predicted ashfall indicates it will largely fall on National Park or forested areas.
