Aggravated Burglary In Stanmore Bay
A 21 year old male is to appear in the North Shore District Court this afternoon after an incident at a residential address in Stanmore Bay earlier today.
Rodney Police and CIB investigators went to Kauri Road at about 5.00am this morning Thursday 2 August 2012 after reports that an aggravated burglary was in progress. A vehicle that was leaving the scene failed to stop for Police.
A Police search located the vehicle and its male occupant in Northcross. The driver has been charged with possession of instruments for conversion, failing to stop for police, Unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, theft, and aggravated burglary.
Several items of stolen property have since been recovered. Police investigators are now following strong leads to locate two other alleged co-offenders who fled the scene.
Police are appealing to any witnesses to the incident or anyone who has information that will assist their ongoing enquiries. The public can call Detective Senior Sergeant Brett Batty of the Rodney CIB on 09 426 5871 or alternatively call Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.
