Serious Crash
Te Atatu Road has been reduced to one lane as serious crash investigators process the scene of a single-car crash.
A man believed to be aged in his late 20s has been taken to Auckland hospital in a critical condition after his car struck a road works barrier at the intersection of Te Atatu Road with Old Te Atatu Road at 4.20am. He was the sole occupant of the car.
Emergency services took over half and hour to free the man from his car.
Police hope to have the road re-opened in time for the morning rush hour but early commuters can expect some delays.
