Serious Crash: State Highway 27, Patetonga, Hauraki.
A crash has occurred on State Highway 27 near the intersection with Maukoro Landing Road, Patetonga, Hauraki.
Two motor vehicles, both four wheel drive SUV's have collided and with one of the vehicles towing a large trailer the highway is now blocked.
There were a number of injuries to passengers of the vehicles with one person reported as status 1 and a three reported as status 2.
All the seriously injured, including three children, have been airlifted to Hospital.
The highway will remain blocked for the next few hours while this crash is investigated by the serious crash unit.
Detours are in place however Police would appreciate travellers avoiding the area.
At this stage there are no further details of the injured persons however this release will be updated when these details come to hand.
