TVNZ Breakfast and Rugby World Cup 2011 Roadshow is on the way to Hawke’s Bay
The Rugby World Cup Road Show will arrive into Napier on Tuesday the 19th July and will be located in the National Aquarium Car Park. Accompanying the Roadshow will be TVNZ Breakfast Presenter Tamati Coffey who will broadcast his live weather crosses from the Roadshow base. The action will kick off at 0635 and continue through the morning until 0930.
The Roadshow includes a custom designed truck
that opens out to a 72 square metre events centre jam packed
with interactive displays and videos on Rugby World Cup
history and legends. It also houses the Webb Ellis Cup so
there will be the chance for people to have their picture
taken with the legendary trophy.
Outside of the truck,
a marquee area will preview some of Hawke’s Bay’s Real
NZ Festival events and experiences that will be held during
RWC. These include a real life ‘Running of the Lambs’
and ‘Mutton dressed as Lamb’ display to celebrate
Central Hawke’s Bay’s Lamb Country Festival, Signature
Dish, Spring Racing Carnival and Art Deco Cars and
dancing.
An important part of the Roadshow is for each
host city to ‘adopt a second team’ to show how they
intend to welcome their visiting teams and fans. Hawke’s
Bay will adopt France so there will also be lots of French
celebrations during the morning including an Eiffel Tower
shaped Profiterole stack, French singers and accordion
players and face painting for the kids.
Te Aute Boys
College will also perform a Haka for live television.
There will be prizes for the best dressed fan so we
are encouraging mums, dads, kids and fans to don some face
paint and their teams colours to be in to win. There will
also be Rugby World Cup ticket giveaways, photo
opportunities with the Webb Ellis Cup and breakfast and
coffee fare for the early risers.
The Roadshow
Broadcast has been facilitated by Hawke’s Bay Tourism and
will include five live crosses back to studio. Hawke’s Bay
Tourism General Manager Annie Dundas says ‘The Roadshow is
a great preparation celebration for Rugby World Cup and the
live Breakfast broadcast is a fantastic opportunity to show
New Zealand what Hawke’s Bay has to offer during Rugby
World Cup tournament time’
The Roadshow kicked off
in Bluff on July 4th and will wrap up on July 31st after
completing a tour of twenty seven cities and towns in New
Zealand. RWC NZ 2011 boss Martin Snedden will also be at
the Roadshow to see how Hawke’s Bay preparations are
progressing.
The public is invited to come along to
the National Aquarium Car Park and enjoy the celebrations
and get their face on TV.
