Pets Are Part of the Family is your furry friend always there for you?
Any dedicated pet owner knows their animals arent just four-legged creatures that happen to live under the same roof.
Pets enrich our lives immeasurably as they become our family, our friends and our biggest fans – and Purina is inviting
New Zealanders to share their stories.
Research* shows pet owners are healthier and happier than non pet-owners. For example, they generally have lower blood
pressure, they recover faster from illnesses, and they have more robust immune systems. Regular dog-walking improves
fitness, as well as social interaction with fellow dog-owners.
Not only this, but pets provide us with a sense of emotional wellbeing and an unconditional acceptance of who we are.
Their faithful companionship eases the stress of everyday life, and helps people recover from emotional trauma. Pets are
always there for us when we need them! Its a two-way street, though. Pets are reliant on us as well, to feed them, love
them, and care for them as best we can. Enter Purina, whose expert nutritionists, food scientists, vets, and animal
behaviourists are continuously discovering new ways to help pets lead healthier, happier, longer lives.
Purina products give dogs and cats a great choice of recipes and formats for every life stage and lifestyle. Supplying
quality, tasty and nutritious food for furry family members across the country, Purina aims to provide total care when
it comes to your pets diet. Purina is also a committed member of the wider pet care community, supporting charitable
organisations and promoting responsible pet ownership in New Zealand and worldwide.
They even have a free advice service at 0800 PET VIP: a dedicated team of pet care experts, including veterinary nurses
and animal behaviorists available to offer advice and support on a wide range of pet care questions, from health and
nutrition to behaviour, training and socialisation, as well as information about Purina products and services. When it
comes to pets, you could say that theyre always there for us, and Purinas there for them.
With this in mind, Purina invites New Zealanders to write in to us with 50-100 words on how their dog or cat has “been
there for them”. It could be anything from a heroic, life-saving tale, to a story of cherished companionship. The best
stories will receive a years supply of Purina product, bespoke to the individual pets needs. Simply send in your name,
address, phone number and story by 1 July to:
