Brazen burglar empties Gaming Machine till
It's not a merry Christmas for Woodville's New Central Hotel after a briefly unattended till was emptied of its cash by a brazen burglar yesterday.
Dannevirke Police say that it only took a few minutes for the offender to take advantage of the manager being distracted elsewhere in the premises to walk in and take the money from the till. The burglary was discovered a short time later.
Security footage shows that the offender walked into the hotel, on the corner of Vogel and Ormond Streets, about 10am yesterday. He was thinly built, and dressed in a long wet weather green coloured jacket and leggings. The hood was up over his head and he wore white sneakers. He left through the Ormond Street door and was later seen walking along Ormond Street.
Police are appealing for anyone with information about who the offender is to contact Detective Shane Brown, Dannevirke Police, on 06 374 4500.
