The Christchurch City Civic Awards
Each year the Christchurch City Council Civic Awards honour individuals and organisations whose achievements and contributions have been of significant benefit to the city. The awards recognise the finest examples of public service in a range of civic endeavour
This year 13 individuals and two corporations were honoured by Mayor Bob Parker at a civic reception at the Christchurch Town Hall on 8 December.
Nominations for the awards were in the categories of recreation, youth activities, social welfare, educational services, cultural affairs, religious studies or any other substantial service, usually of a voluntary nature, that helps to further the vision of Christchurch outlined in the Council's long-term community plan.
