Queenstown Assault Arrests
At about 3am on Saturday the 11th December 2010 a 24 year old male German tourist was seriously assaulted and knocked unconscious in Shotover Street Queenstown .
The victims wallet was also stolen during the incident .
The victim was transported to Lakes District Hospital for treatment of facial injures and suspected neck injury.
Police enquiries , with the assistance of members of the public and the use of several private CCTV systems have identified the two offenders who were subsequently arrested shortly after 4pm from central Queenstown location.
The offenders aged 24 and 21 are currently working in Queenstown having recently arrived from the North Island .
The are due to appear in the Queenstown Court on Monday 13 December 2010
Police would like to thank the public and local businesses for their assistance in this enquiry .
