New Zealand Post launches a PostShop finder iPhone application

New Zealand Post has just launched a new way for people to find their nearest PostShop location and its opening hours.
The PostShop finder app for iPhones provides customers with a simple and easy way to locate PostShop stores and determine whether they’re open or closed. There are over 300 PostShop Kiwibank stores in New Zealand Post's retail network.
Michelle van Gaalen from New Zealand Post’s Retail channel said one of the most common call centre enquiries is from customers who want to know our PostShop locations and opening hours.
“By providing the PostShop finder app, it allows customers who have the right device to easily find their nearest postal, billpay, Kiwibank or Kiwibank ATM service.
“With just a couple of clicks on the app customers can quickly see a PostShop location, whether it is open or closed (if closed there’s a sign hanging there), the opening hours and the phone contact details.
“Currently the New Zealand Post app lets people track parcels but the PostShop finder adds a whole new dimension. In future we are also looking to provide customers with the ability to calculate postage rates and find postcodes via their device,” said Ms van Gaalen.
New Zealand Post has been devoting significant time to making sure our technology is ready for the rapidly changing way people communicate with each other.
“We recognise that digital communication is fundamental to doing business in New Zealand and around the world and that this PostShop finder example goes hand in hand with our network of physical stores,” said Ms van Gaalen.
The app can be accessed via the Apple iStore or New Zealand Post and downloaded to any iPhone. It also works on iPod Touch devices.
How the app works:
1. From the home page select PostShop locator
2. Your current location will automatically be found and highlighted on-screen
3. Either click on the PostShop/Kiwibank icon that pops up on a map near your current location or scroll around the map to another icon
4. Once you have clicked on the icon the name, address, phone numbers opening hours appear.
