Update alleged sexual assault of Coromandel secondary school student
Waikato Police investigating an alleged sexual assault of a Coromandel secondary school student and the recording of that incident are working with partner agencies to establish what occurred.
Detective Sergeant Martyn Hughes of the Thames-Coromandel CIB said the victim has since returned to her home country.
"A number of enquiries are being followed up locally with partner agencies today as we work to establish just what has happened.
"Until this phase has been completed we won't be in a position to comment further because we simply aren't in a position to do so at this point in time," he said.
