BNZ Meadowlands Aggravated Robbery 19/11/10
At approximately mid-day today a sole heavily disguised gunman has approached a security guard within the premises of the BNZ Meadowlands.
The security guard was making a delivery and had entered the bank before he was approached.
The gunman, brandishing what has been described as a single sawn off shotgun, has demanded the cash canister from the guard.
The guard has complied and the offender has fled to a nearby awaiting vehicle being driven by a second person.
This vehicle, a dark blue Honda civic liftback has sped away from the scene and was located by Police a short distance away.
From enquiries made Police know that the offenders have got into a second stolen vehicle, a 2001 silver Mitsubishi station wagon registration number FDR446 and have left in a direction unknown.
FDR446 was stolen from the Remuera area sometime between 8am and 6pm yesterday. This vehicle is still outstanding.
Police are appealing to the public for any information relating to the aggravated robbery and specifically the whereabouts of the 2001 Mitsubishi Lancer station wagon FDR446 which is still outstanding.
If that vehicle is sighted it should not be approached. Please contact Police immediately.
