Update On Serious Rotorua Crash
Rotorua Police enquiries are continuing into the crash which occurred on State Highway 5, south of Rotorua, in the early hours of this morning, Saturday 17 July. The crash involved a van containing 12 persons in their late teens, all of whom required hospital treatment, some with critical injuries.
Specialised road policing staff are running the investigation, which is expected to take several weeks. The investigation will include Police analysis, forensic results from ESR and a vehicle inspectors’ report.
Further scene and vehicle examinations will be conducted on Monday and Police hope that these will provide further detail as to the cause of the crash.
