Missing Female - Enquiries Continue
Police investigators are active in both Auckland and Hamilton today as the search for a missing 32 year old Remuera woman, Carmen Thomas, continues into the weekend.
The mother of one was last seen in Auckland on 1 July 2010 and was reported missing to Police on Tuesday 13 July 2010. Operation KEPPELL has a team of 13 investigators who are deployed in a number of ongoing enquiries today.
In Hamilton a team of police is carrying out an area canvas where Carmen’s black Nissan Pulsar car was found. This vehicle is being held at a secure location. Several items were found inside the vehicle when it was located.
Acting Detective Inspector Mark Benefield, is leading this missing person enquiry He says it’s out of character for Carmen Thomas to not have had contact with her five year old son in the last two weeks.
“The fact that this situation exists is concerning,” he said.
“The public can play a vital role in this enquiry. We need sightings of Carmen Thomas or any information about the missing woman that will help us to locate her. We want to hear about any recent sightings of her Nissan Pulsar vehicle,” he said.
“Carmen is Caucasian. She stands 5’7” tall. She has a fair complexion and is of medium to heavy build with long brown hair. She wears two sets of earrings in each ear and she is usually well presented. Police are making a concerted effort to find this woman,” Mr. Benefield said.
