North Now Announces Further Local Board Candidate

North Now Announces Further Local Board Candidate

North Now, the independent North Shore/North Harbour ticket, has announced a further local board candidate for the new Auckland super city.

He is Nick Kearney, a commercial and property lawyer who lives at Hillcrest. He will contest the Kaipatiki Local Board.

A former policeman, Nick is an associate at a North Shore law firm and a member and former chairman of the Glenfield Community Board. He is also a member of the executive committee of the Glenfield Community Centre.

Nick was raised and educated on the North Shore and is a local person in every sense of the word. He has a wife, Anne, and a nine-year-old daughter, Amber, who attends a local primary school. He brings to the North Now team comprehensive legal and campaign experience.

Nick joins two other local board candidates recently announced on the North Now ticket, Toby Hutton (Hibiscus and Bays Local Board) and Chris Waterman (Kaipatiki Local Board). Further North Now candidates will be announced soon.

In April North Now announced journalist and author Graeme Hunt as a candidate for the Albany ward of the Auckland Council. Graeme will also be standing for the Upper Harbour Local Board.

Contrary to a recent report in the Rodney Times, Graeme is not a candidate for the super city mayoralty and has never contemplated standing for mayor.
