Film Screening: Dutch Light
Saturday 28 November, 11am, Adam Auditorium. Entry charges apply
There’s an ancient belief that the light in Holland is different from anywhere else, but this has never been put to the test. Pieter-Rim and Maarten de Kroon’s award-winning documentary film explores the significance, and mythologising of light in the Dutch painting tradition, turning looking into a new experience. Herself from a Dutch background, light has always been a key interest for artist Gerda Leenards, whose exhibition Following the Blue Ribbon will be on display in the Michael Hirschfeld Gallery. An exquisite film for a Saturday morning, Film screening generously supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
