Aggravated Robbery – Miramar Wellington
At 3AM on Saturday the 15th of November 2008 two European male victims were assaulted and robbed of personal items in Strathavon Road, Miramar by a group of 3 Maori or Polynesian males. The victims were walking along Strathavon Road when 3 cowardly assailants ran at the victims from behind.
The victims were assaulted and both were knocked unconscious during the assault. The victims suffered cuts, bruises and a chipped tooth as a result of the beating. The assailants stole a wallet and items of personal property from the pockets of the unconscious victims before making good their escape. Detective Sergeant Murphy said 'These individuals displayed total disregard for the safety of their victims. This was a completely unprovoked attack on two men who were simply making their way home at the end of their night'.
The three offenders are described as Maori or Polynesian males aged in their late teens to 20's. Police want to hear from anyone who saw what happened, or who have any information that could assist the enquiry.
