CatWalk’s Conquest for freedom Up for auction
The CatWalk’s Trust Charity Dinner and Auction will provide an opportunity for spinal injuries persons to get back behind the wheel at this year’s New Zealand Cup and Show Week.
To be auctioned at the charity event, the ‘Martin Conquest’ is a high performance 3 wheeler motorcycle designed specifically for wheelchair users. Imported from the UK the Conquest will be the first of its kind to touch down on New Zealand tarmac.
CatWalk’s Conquest Tour “Conquering Freedom” will promote the bike and raise money for spinal cord injury research through a nationwide tour of New Zealand beginning in Auckland on October 29.
The Conquest will be driven by 17 individual riders for different sections of the tour as it makes its way from the North Island to Invercargill in the South before arriving in Christchurch for CatWalk’s Up and Away Charity Dinner and Auction, November 13.
CatWalk Spinal Injury Trust founder Catriona Williams says the team at CatWalk are very excited about the Conquest.
“We are confident that through our Conquest Tour promotion, we can raise a lot of money towards SCI research and getting people out of wheelchairs and back on their feet. That’s our ultimate goal.”
Bike enthusiasts and supporters are encouraged to join CatWalk on the tour and ride alongside the Conquest.
“We want to raise as much noise as possible when going through each area, so any bikers out there, come along for a ride,” said Williams.
The Up and Away Charity Dinner and Auction forms part of New Zealand Cup and Show Week, November 7-15, and will be a special benefit for the Spinal Cord Injury Trust at the unique Wigram Air Force Museum.
The high glamour event will present exceptional auction items – which are shrouded in secrecy until the night – and are opportunities CatWalk says money can’t buy.
Also on the night - a world first, one of its kind item will be unveiled!
