Motorway closure Northcote southbound by Onewa Road
The Motorway overbridge at Onewa has been damaged as a result of being hit by a Digger that was being transported in the southbound lane.
There is a quantity of Debri in the southbound lanes. This bridge is due for replacement as part of the Motorway upgrade. Engineers are travelling to the scene to assess damage.
As a consequence the Northern Motorway southbound lane is closed at Esmonde road interchange. Traffic is being diverted at Esmonde road and can re-enter on the new onewa road bridge.
There is significant congestion southbound.
Motorists are advised to delay travel in this area or expect large delays
