Old Waimakariri Bridge reopened

CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL MEDIA RELEASE
Old Waimakariri Bridge reopened
The Old Waimakariri Bridge, on Main North Road, has been reopened.
The bridge was closed yesterday afternoon due to concerns that very high
river levels could cause damage to the structure.
Peter McDonald, the Christchurch City Council's Pavement Maintenance
Team Leader, says Council staff and consultants checked the bridge this
morning, and there has been no deterioration to the structure.
The Council would like to extends its thanks to the public for their
patience during the closure.
