Suspicious Activity Spooks Student
New Zealand Police Wellington News Release
4 September 2008
Porirua Police want to hear from anyone who saw a man described as an Indian acting suspiciously near Victory Crescent
and Davidson Crescent, Tawa, after school on Wednesday afternoon, 27 August.
Detective Simon Humphries, Porirua CIB, said a young Tawa Intermediate girl was followed by the man from Victory
Crescent and up a walkway to Davidson Crescent about 3.30pm.
"The way in which the man followed the student was a bit odd. She was certainly spooked by his behaviour and it was only
when she reached the safety of a group of friends that he left her and walked off," he said. "There was no assault
involved but the young girl was shaken by the man's actions."
Police want to hear from anyone who saw the man in the Tawa area between 3pm and 4pm on Wednesday, 27 August.
The man is described as Indian, early 20s, of medium build, tall and with short dark hair. He was wearing dark coloured
jeans and a dark t-shirt. He also had on black shoes and was carrying a black back pack.
If you have seen him or know who he is, please contact Detective Simon Humphries at the Porirua Police Station, Ph:
2381400.
