Attack On 15 Yr Old Girl

3 September 2008
At about 6.30pm on Tuesday evening the 2nd of September 2008 a 15 year old girl was walking along Selywn Street, Sydenham when she was attacked from behind by a yet unknown male.
She was dragged into the grounds of the Christchurch South Intermediate School were she was sexually assaulted. The offender is believed to have left the school grounds by the Selywn Street exit but his direction of travel from there is unknown. The offender is described as a male who was possibly wearing a hooded sweatshirt.
Police would like to hear from any members of the public who may have any information that could assist police with there enquiries. That includes anyone walking or driving in the area around the time of the attack.
Police would especially like to hear from a male who was wearing shorts and walking a white Labrador dog south on Selywn Street around the time of the attack.
The victim is convalescing locally after this unprovoked attack.
