Wellington Police are currently investigating an incident where a carpark attendant was robbed whilst opening up at the inner city carpark on Clifton Terrace.
At about 7.10am this morning as the attendant was setting up he answered a knock at the door of the main office. As he opened the door a male burst through and grabbed him by the throat. The male told the attendant that he had a weapon and demanded that he hand over the money.
As the attendant tried to hand over the 3 cash boxes the male punched him in the face and grabbed the metal cash boxes.
The male then ran from the office and was last seen running through the carpark area up towards the cable car.
The male is described as :

Wellington Police would like to hear from any one who was in the area at the time, using the carpark or who may be able to identify the male involved.
