Onslow-Western ward’s turn for Mayoral Ward Clinic
Onslow-Western Ward residents are invited to meet with Mayor Kerry Prendergast and local ward councillors at a Mayoral
Ward Clinic being held this Saturday 30 August.
The clinic is the fourth in a year-long pilot that provides an opportunity for residents to meet with the Mayor and
councillors to discuss any Council-related issues they have in their community.
Mayor Prendergast says she is trialling the clinics after feedback that many of the issues raised at Wellington MP
electorate clinics are Council-related issues. “I wanted to give people a chance to raise those issues directly with me
and their ward councillors.
“And I’m really pleased with the clinics held so far. We’ve had a good turn-out at all of them and managed to address a
range of concerns.”
This Saturday’s clinic will be held at the St John’s Hall on the corner of Karori Road and Campbell Street between
9.30am and 11.30am.
The final clinic in the pilot will be held in the Northern Ward on Saturday 18 October.
Mayor Prendergast says no appointment is necessary. “Any Onslow-Western Ward resident who wants to talk to either myself
or Councillors Foster, Coughlan or Morrison about an issue in their community can come along.
“If we can provide the information they are seeking, or address their issue for them at the time, we will do so. If not,
we will bring the issue back to the Council and make sure they receive a response as soon as possible.”
