New Zealand Police Alert 3:55pm 22 Aug 2008 Canterbury
Location of incident: Christchurch
Incident type: Missing Capuchin Monkey
Staff at Willowbank Wildlife Reserve advise that they are still missing a Capuchin monkey.
On Wednesday 20/8/08 the monkeys at the reserve were being transferred to a new enclosure when one managed to escape.
They have not been able to locate it on the premises and a letter drop has been done with the neighbours in the area.
The monkey is not considered harmful but should not be approached.
It is likely to be rummaging for food and seeking shelter so residents are asked to be alert for any unusual activity on their properties.
