The search for Joan Catlow continues this morning in Christchurch. She has now been missing for 2 1/2 days which have all been very severely cold weather.
DSS David Harvey says that overnight there have been a number of sightings of a woman dressed similarly to Joan reported between 5-6am on Tuesday morning.
"This woman has been seen on Gloucester Street and the Hagley Park area wearing night attire similar to Joan's," he says.
"Of course the weather that morning and since has been very cold which raises real concerns for her well being and safety."
There have been other sightings reported from around Christchurch of a woman who fitted Joan's description but wearing jeans and casual clothes, however these have not been confirmed as Joan."
Her family continue to be very concerned that Joan has not come home.
Last night dog section searched an area in the vicinity of Hagley Park and today searchers will be at the old Sale Yards and in Hagley Park and Botanic Garden.
Currently there are 28 investigators including forensic scientists working on her disappearance.
