Dyers Pass Road is again closed, due to a slip.
The slip is near the Governors Bay end of Dyers Pass Road, and the road is currently closed from the Sign of the Kiwi through to Governors Bay. The slip has brought down a large tree, which is hanging over the road.
The tree will need to be removed and the bank stabilised before the road can be reopened, and this may take most of the day.
Part of Summit Road is also closed from the Sign of the Kiwi to Gebbies Pass, due to a slip blocking the road.
Detours are in place via either Lyttelton Tunnel or via Evans Pass to Sumner.
There are a number of minor slips on the Banks Peninsula, Scarborough Road, Taylors Mistake Road and Evans Pass Road. Motorists are asked to drive with care, and to watch out for both slips and road crews working on the roads.
