Police investigating the shooting of a Matamata man in Waharoa last Sunday have charged a second man for murder.
Following widespread publicity Hari Beaudean POULSON, 26, surrendered himself to Police in Mangere early last night.
Arrested POULSON was charged with murder and will be appearing in the Hamilton District Court today.
While investigators are pleased they have been able to bring charges against two men involved in Sunday's shooting enquiry head, Detective Senior Sergeant Greg Nicholls, said there was plenty of work still to be done.
"As we highlighted yesterday there are indications that there were more people in the car at the time of the shooting which is the main focus of our enquiry today.
"I would like to reiterate that this is a murder enquiry and that anyone harbouring people related to this incident face very serious consequences," he said.
The family of the victim, Desmond Arahanga, have been told of the second arrest, their focus is on Mr Arahanga's burial today.
