Incident type: Weather affecting roads
Police are dealing with a lot of incidents due to the weather. There have been a large volume of calls reporting trees
across roads and big wind gusts in the Manawatu,Horowhenua areas right up to Waiouru.
As this weather seems to be moving south, drivers are advised to take extreme care travelling on any roads in bottom
half of the North Island.
Drivers should be travelling with headlights on and increase their followng distances. Also be prepared to stop quickly
in the event that there is debris on the road.
