Youths Charged With Street Robberies

On 28 July Hornby Police concluded an operation regarding three Aggravated street robberies that had occurred on Friday 25 July and a further one that had occurred on the morning of 28 July.
The victims of all these robberies were all High school children who had been in their respective High School uniform either going to or from school.
Three youths aged 14, 15 and 16 years have been charged with four counts of Aggravated Robbery and one of them , one count of Common assault.
The group had targeted youths for their I-pods, cell phones, cash and food some of which has been recovered by Police.
The trio are to appear in the Christchurch Youth Court this morning on the above serious charges.
