Investigation Into Assault On Woman Continues

Police investigating the assault on a woman in her home in Avonhead last week, are looking for a Uniden phone which is light cream with a grey aerial. The base set was left at the victim's home.
Police conducted house to house inquiries after the woman in her 60's was assaulted and robbed by an intruder early Thursday morning in her Tyndale Place home. She suffered moderate injuries.
Police have now established a similar incident / burglary has occurred at another Tyndale address recently which was not reported.
"We need to know from others in the area if they had incidents which they haven't reported," says Detective Sergeant Ross Tarawhiti. "This was a serious incident and we need the assistance of the public to find the person responsible. Some one will know who the offender is," he says.
