Byelection for councillor of the Mohaka Ward
Hastings District Council is holding a byelection for the role of councillor for the Mohaka Ward.
The post was held previously by Councillor Deborah Turner who passed away in early July.
Nomination papers will be available from 24 July from the Hastings District Council Civic Administration Building at 207 Lyndon Road East in Hastings.  Each returned nomination paper should be accompanied by a deposit of $200.  Candidates can submit a candidate profile statement (type-written), which will be sent to electors with the voting papers.
Nominations must be received by noon on Thursday 21 August by the electoral officer at Hastings District Council’s civic administration building.
The electoral roll to be used for the byelection will be available for viewing from 24 July to 21 August, at the following locations:
First Floor, Hastings District Council Administration Building, 207 Lyndon Road East, Hastings;
Tutira Store;
Bay View BP Connect;
Puketapu Store.
The byelection will take place on Friday 10 October 2008.
