Call for entries OBJECTive 2008
Artists and designers are invited to submit new works of object art in ceramics, glass, jewellery, wood, metalwork, textiles and furniture to be considered for the 2008 OBJECTive Art Awards.
OBJECTive* is an exciting event that over the last ten years has been gaining recognition from the New Zealand art community.
This year's guest selector is internationally respected Auckland glass artist John Penman.
Organiser of the event, Art Events Manager for Manukau City Council, Chantelle Whaiapu says "Object art brings together the workmanship and attention to detail of traditional crafts with the contemporariness of modern design and abstract art thinking. I'm pleased this event is able to support object art design in New Zealand."
Successful entrants will be in the running for more than $10,000 of prize money and their work will feature in an exhibition at the historic Nathan Homestead in Manurewa, Manukau from 27 September to 2 November.
Entry forms are available from Manukau Arts Centres and from www.manukau.govt.nz/arts
For more information email manukau.arts@manukau.govt.nz Entries close on 14 September.
