'Big Day Out' For Police In Northern Suburbs
2 July 2008
Police in the Northern area of Christchurch are conducting a day of executing warrants and road policing checks.
Senior Sergeant Roy Appley, Papanui, says that after a 7am start this morning his teams have already conducted search warrants at seven addresses in northern and central area and they had success at all but one.
"We are particularly looking for drugs and stolen property," he says. "This morning's warrants have led us to execute warrants at two more addresses."
Road policing units are also involved checking drivers at check points.
Roy Appley says that 60 warrants to arrest on individuals will also be executed this morning.
Results will be given later this afternoon.
