Helicopter Rescue
The Wellington based Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called to Paekakariki
North of Wellington to motor vehicle accident. The Helicopter was called at
1:30pm.
The Helicopter responded to the accident on St Hwy 1, alongside the railway
station, with a Wellington Free Ambulance (WFA) Paramedic onboard.
The helicopter was able to land a short distance from the patient where he
was being attended to by WFA Paramedics.
The injured 33 year old Waikanae man was loaded into the helicopter and
transported to Wellington Hospital Emergency Department where he is being
assessed for a broken leg and possible back injuries.
