Lights To Return To Kapiti
Following discussions with Electra and a review of the situation it has been decided that for safety and security reasons, all Kapiti Coast District streetlights will be turned on as soon as possible and that the contractors will be advised all circuits are live.
Contractors will work through the night to isolate the more than 50 streets involved and all streets will be checked in the morning for any other problems with wiring.  As a result some streetlights in the district will be turned off progressively during the night.
Residents are advised to treat streetlight poles as potentially “live”.
