Appointment of Environmental Services General Manager

Council CEO Michael Redman announced today that Brian Croad has been appointed as the new General Manager Environmental Services.
Brian comes to Council with extensive experience in local government both in New Zealand and Australia. Earlier in his career Brian was Principal Planner at Tauranga City Council. From 1989 –2005 he held various senior management roles at Western Bay of Plenty District Council including General Manager Environmental Services, Group Manager Forward Planning and Deputy CEO & Director of Governance and Monitoring.
Since 2007 Brian has been undertaking a major review of the resource consent activities at Manukau City Council as well as providing management services to the Environment Directorate.
Brian has formal qualifications in planning, management and industrial relations and is a certified commissioner under the RMA. He is also an approved consultant for the New Zealand Business Excellence Foundation (NZBEF) utilising the Baldrige Criteria for Business Excellence.
Brian commences his role on July 28.
