CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL MEDIA RELEASE
The annual Zonta Women in Business Grant Award will be presented tonight by the Mayor Bob Parker.
The Zonta Women in Busness Grant Award is an annual grant of $5000 given to support the growth of a Christchurch woman’s business.
The award is for a woman who is running her own business and has reached a crucial stage where she needs a hands-up to develop the business further. The award has been run since 1999.
This year 14 women put in applications for the award. Organisers says the quality of the applicants was very high, but four finalists have been selected, and the winner will be announced tonight.
Zonta is an international organisation which aims to support and raise the status of women.
The awards ceremony will be held in the Mayor’s Lounge at the Civic Offices, starting at 5pm.
