Burnside: Workplace Incident

Media release on behalf of the Papanui Police.
Emergency services attended a commercial premise today on Wairakei Road in Christchurch, where a man had become trapped under nine slabs of granite.
The slabs weigh four hundred kilograms each and were being unloaded at the time by the injured male and a second person when they slipped.
Inspectors from OSH are investigating.
The 60-year-old male is in a critical condition at Christchurch Hospital.
No further information is available at this stage.
