On Friday 16 May, DHL in conjunction with Surf Lifesaving and Manukau City Council, undertook a major clean up of two beaches near Auckland Airport. These are Elliot and Renton beaches.
Please find images of the beach clean up attached and further information below.
• On Friday 16 May, around 30 DHL Express staff volunteered their time for two hours to do their bit for the environment. Coordinated through the Manukau City Council they picked up rubbish and cleaned two nearby beaches (Elliot and Renton beaches near Auckland Airport)
• By choosing to clean up Elliot and Renton beaches DHL hopes to acknowledge its significant presence in the airport area and positively impact its immediate environment and community
• Local park ranger, Trudie McNie, met the group at the beach and provided the DHL staff with all the equipment required.
• The group broke up into two teams to clean the beaches and surrounding area
• A large number of rubbish bags were left for the Council to gratefully collect.
